Punchbowl National Cemetery of the Pacific

Punchbowl Cemetery is the final resting place of, and memorial to, nearly 30,000 American soldiers and sailors, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Punchbowl Crater, Pūowaina in Hawaiian, was used in ancient times as a site for human sacrifices; pū-o-waina means "hill of placing (human sacrifices)."
